Every Cloud has a Silver Lining

Olá!

Hope you're all well! Well, I went to Belém today to have a look around there, and it was ok. Had a mooch around the port bit and went past a museum. There is also a local cake called "Pastel de Belém" which are sold from the Pastéis de Belém shop. They're a rich custard tart, served warm with cinnamon and icing sugar on, and the pastry is a crispy, slightly puff pastry-esque. I don't like custard, but I thought I'd give it a whirl, as I've not tried custard tarts since about the age of 6, which was a Greggs' Custard Tart from Swinton Precint. They were ok, and I didn't heave. In fact they were quite tasty, they wouldn't necessarily be my favourite cake, but still they aren't the worst thing ever.

All the news in Portugal is going mad of the Bird Flu epidmic, but I was thinking today, perhaps it's a good thing. Yeah, it's really contagious, and people can get really ill from it, but look at it this way: We'll get rid of all the scabby pigeons that are plagueing our city centres! I saw one today with no feet, only stumps! Death to the scabby pigeons!

Ben x
